We believe that neighborhoods should be safe environments where individuals and families can live, work, and play. We look for ways to help neighbors work together to make their communities healthy and safe.
Development
Front Step's Development efforts include:
- Partner with Stenton Park in North Philadelphia to revitalize the older or damaged infrastructure within the park, including the horseshoe pits, baseball field, and playground equipment
- Working with neighborhood block captains to create a community garden with education about nutrition and agriculture
- Summer sports and crafts projects with the children of the Logan community
- Neighborhood cleanup
- Community picnics at Stenton Park
- Little School Day Care opened in northeast Philadelphia
Planned Development efforts include:
- Continued renovation of Stenton Park in cooperation with the City of Philadelphia, including bench repair, rehabilitation of basketball and tennis courts
- A community center is currently being built in a facility owned by Front Step (1539 W. Courtland)
