Front Step believes in giving a hand up, not a hand out. In close partnership with Word In Action International Ministries, we are poised to assist in times of crisis, but believe that relief efforts should be temporary. We believe that charity should be given with dignity and respect, along with a demand for accountability and personal growth. Likewise, it is with a heart of compassion that we give our support to those whose sole subsidence depends on the generosity of others, and believe it is our responsibility to be an advocate for the forgotten, disenfranchised, and those who cannot defend themselves.

Front Step's Relief efforts include:

Food pantry serves over 800 families per month
Food pantry feeds 100 people considered homeless per week
Over 1,000 Christmas gifts distributed through Word in Action International
Participation in the Pennsylvania Benefit Bank
Over 600 Thanksgiving turkeys distributed
Seniors provided with frozen food restocking each week
Hundreds of book bags, filled with much needed school supplies, sold below cost
Supplies collected and sent for Haitian earthquake relief efforts

Planned Relief efforts include:

Expansion of work with the Pennsylvania Benefits Bank
Co-sponsor a disaster relief trailer with demolition and heavy construction equipment
Counseling and spiritual care for those in immediate crisis
